A.T. Hagood Memorial Scholarship



A.T. Hagood Memorial Scholarship Fund
 

The South Carolina State Association of Fire Chiefs has established the A.T. Hagood Memorial Scholarship Fund. The purpose of this fund is to assist members and members’ spouses and/or children with funding to further their formal education. Formal education is being defined here as an active pursuit of an Associate Degree and or Bachelor’s Degree.

The other requirements which must be met in order to be eligible for consideration of a monetary scholarship award from this fund are:

  • An application completed and submitted to the Executive Committee of the South Carolina State Association of Fire Chiefs that indicates basic personal information. 
  • A letter of justification, describing the need for assistance funding to further an eligible person’s formal education and proof of enrollment for a period requesting scholarship funding at an institution of higher learning. 
  • Maintenance and certification of a minimum “C” in all courses during the year of scholarship request. 

The Executive Committee of the South Carolina State Association of Fire Chiefs will review all scholarships request and shall determine each year’s recipients of same scholarship. Applications will be accepted until July 1 of the year it is awarded.

Scholarships are typically awarded in the amount of $500 but may be reduced and/or increased as decided by the current Executive Committee of the South Carolina State Association of Fire Chiefs.
